Because we aim, along with other parents, to be a 'potent national force' and believe parents are the best advocates for their children, AAC is building its grass-roots activist network to achieve maximum impact on the political process.

AAC State Coordinators will work to organize parents in their state to empower parents. We aim to make parents the best advocates for ourselves and for our children. We will organize on the local level; the combination of all the effots by AAC District Leaders on the state and local level will maximize our collective effort on the national level.

AAC District Leaders will:

•Be the primary contact for our efforts on the Congressional District Level

•Coordinate AAC campaigns among parents in their Districts

(Click Here To See AAC's "Tips For Talking With Legislators")

•Help formulate AAC legislative policy on the local and national level

•Be the Primary media contact at the local level

•Work with other autism and related advocacy organizations so that we can be:

One Strong Voice For Our Children

As of July 30, 2006 AAC State Coordinators and District Leaders number over 100 parents and grandparents covering 37 States and ninety Congressional Districts / For a List of Our State Coordinators and District Leaders Click Here

AAC Advocates now number close to 10,000 parents and friends, and we have only just begun our organizing campaign. We have AAC Advocates in every Congressional District. We know we can be a national force because We Are Everywhere and we're not going away...

In fact, it is the only thing that ever has."
