Autism Action Network — Key Points

What We Are: A nationwide, non-partisan 501(c)(4) advocacy organization focused on public policy and legislation that affects people with autism, vaccine injuries, and related developmental conditions.

Our Origins: Founded in 2005 by a group of parents of vaccine-injured children (originally as A-CHAMP) to stop mercury in vaccines; expanded in 2008 and renamed to reflect a broader advocacy agenda.

What We Do:

  • Advocate for legislative and policy changes at state and national levels.

  • Provide information and tools so citizens can engage with elected officials and influence decisions.

  • Monitor issues related to autism causes, treatments, vaccine safety, insurance reform, disability civil rights, and special education.

How We Engage People:

  • Face to Face Advocacy with Legislators in Albany and Washington D.C.

  • Social Media & Electronic - Maintain active communication through email and social media to share key issues and calls-to-action with supporters. Anyone can join and take action.

Why It Matters: The network organizes ordinary citizens into a collective advocacy force to influence policy and protect the rights and well-being of individuals living with autism and related conditions.
