Autism Action Network — Key Points
What We Are: A nationwide, non-partisan 501(c)(4) advocacy organization focused on public policy and legislation that affects people with autism, vaccine injuries, and related developmental conditions.
Our Origins: Founded in 2005 by a group of parents of vaccine-injured children (originally as A-CHAMP) to stop mercury in vaccines; expanded in 2008 and renamed to reflect a broader advocacy agenda.
What We Do:
Advocate for legislative and policy changes at state and national levels.
Provide information and tools so citizens can engage with elected officials and influence decisions.
Monitor issues related to autism causes, treatments, vaccine safety, insurance reform, disability civil rights, and special education.
How We Engage People:
Face to Face Advocacy with Legislators in Albany and Washington D.C.
Social Media & Electronic - Maintain active communication through email and social media to share key issues and calls-to-action with supporters. Anyone can join and take action.
Why It Matters: The network organizes ordinary citizens into a collective advocacy force to influence policy and protect the rights and well-being of individuals living with autism and related conditions.
